[MODERATOR NOTE: BRAINCHYLDE]

I have no problem with people asking for help in transferring funds. However, if you partake in this sort of activity, please be aware that this is at your own risk - RtR take no responsiblity for this. You should in particular be aware of the laws in your jurisdiction surrounding money laundering. I cannot vouch for the authenticity of any request of this kind.

Thanks.

Hi there,

Been lurking around poker blogs and forums ever since I got interested in playing online; Have been playing 5 cards-draw and Texas Hold'em for almost a year, but only got into online play a month ago.

I'm a young webmaster and entrepreneur, and until recently I blogged for living (called Problogging), I always heard about online poker but never imagined it could be quite as exciting as sitting at a live table.

Currently I only play the freerolls at Full Tilt poker, the reason I haven't made any deposits yet is because I want to transfer some of my Paypal funds into my FT account, I don't want my money just sitting there so I figured a Paypal-to-FullTilt transfer would the most efficient way to start my bankroll.

I am well aware of the Paypal fraud issue and very aware that a solid community would find it hard to trust a newcomer, but I'm taking it easy and know for sure that in time trust will follow and I will get my chance to start my poker experiment.

I read some/most of the blogs that have been posted regularly, I like drember's blog the most though (I identify with the way he manages his bankroll)

So I figured it could be nice if each one of you guys introduced him/herseld here and told us a little about himself, his poker and how/where he plays =].

Regards,
Sawyer69

PS: If you guys need any technical assistance or hosting, hit me up.[/b]

Hi. I've added a note to your post - I'm afraid I am compelled to do this for the protection of our users. It may be that someone decides to help. However, if you are considering playing poker online, I would suggest you open a Neteller account or just get another deposit method using a debit or credit card. Thanks.

About me:

I'm a poker player, blogger and general enthusiast - one of the brains behind the site (haha). Like yourself, I'm a webmaster, indeed my first degree was in Computer Science, before I decided to embark upon a career in law. I still hold a firm interest in general computing, but in particular web applications.

Been playing poker for around 2 years. Never read a book. Never intend reading one, but I probably should - because my bankroll is testament to how good I am.

I'm also a keen golfer, handicap 6. Played at a national level until the age of 15/16 when I lost interest slightly. But I took it back up at 19 and currently working hard to pull my game back together.

Hello Brainchylde,

I acknowledge the fact that you would like to protect your users from possible fraud, I have managed a lot of forums myself and know how important that is, however - I don't see how you can call a Paypal to Full Tilt transfer "money laundering", therefore applying a criminal attributes to this kind of action. I've been using Paypal to buy & sell websites and people's services for a long time now. I do understand however, that the ball is in your ground, and the way you formulate things is up to you, should've probably waited before requesting something like that.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome and see you at the boards!

Hi sawyer

I don't mean to be rude mate, but if you have waited this long to play anything but freerolls, whats the problem with waiting a few days for your bank to clear funds from PayPal, then just deposit from you credit or debit card. Tada!

Don't worry about being blunt with me, I like as long as it's not personal and you're not treating me unfairly. Truth is - if I had any other efficient way to play online, I'd be using it already. As you know, Paypal deals with banks from a limited amount of countries, and unfortunately - my country isn't within that list. Which means, yes - I cannot withdraw any money from Paypal, I can either spend it on shopping or transfer it. That's why I'm close to five figures there, I've just got nothing to do with the money. I've sold a lot of my projects and services and over time accumulated a decent amount of cash that I'd like to invest in something, something like poker.

I'm sure the average guy has one million and two more reasons not take the risk of a Paypal-to-FT transfer, but with time comes trust and I'm sure I will find someone who'd be willing to transfer small amounts ($20-$200) to my FT account in exchange for a commission. I'm willing to wait as I improve =]

See ya at the boards mate

Please see my response that was posted just a little before yours.

Understand - I'm not trying to convince you to help me, I just don't want to completely jeopardize the chances of someone doing it sometime in the future, as they are slim anyway. If you aren't interested - fair enough, I understand.

Hi again, have you thought about playing at Betfair Poker http://www.betfairpoker.com they let you deposit via PayPal. You could then open a neteller account withdraw to neteller then deposit on which ever site you want to play on, problem solved. No fee for this answer ;-)

Pokermonk3y, thanks for your continuous suggestions, but trust me - I wouldn't post a request like that if I haven't tested and observed all the available methods. Betfair does let you deposit using Paypal, but that's only if you're from Ireland, or the European Union, which my country isn't part of - unfortunately in this case.

Cheers and thanks again for trying :)
