OK chaps. Been playing a fair bit of PLO of late and really enjoy it. I have always enjoyed tourney poker for NL, but time is obviously a problem with this so PLO cash seems a great medium as enjoyable.

Now, throw in some life changes coming in the next 6 months (job moving further away), ideally, I would like to be able to cut my working hours, but need the money. So, what I'm trying to work out is, how many tables/hours/level/ROI etc I would need for PLO to earn say £300 p/w.

What is the standard thought out ROI for PLO ?
I'm comfortable 4 tabling, so what level would I need to generate £30 p/h ? (I am working to 10 hrs p/w as a guide, but say I was only doing my real job for 3 days a week, that could double I guess)

Any thoughts ?

Cogs,
I've been turning a profit average of £3-600 a week playing $1/2 3 tables for approx 25hrs a week, but the swings can be huge, and i have a lot more free time than yourself, espcially if your going to continue at work.

These past 2 weeks i've experimented with 25c/50c games 6 tabling and giving myself a target of making £50/$100 a day playing only 3 hrs a day, and i've only failed to make the target once which was yesterday, and i dont think i've been running pretty well,

My $1/2 games been on Ladbrokes, very soft and LAG's a plenty, and my 25c/50c is on Full tilt due to needing the selction of tables to fill my 6 at a time, so i guess your target is achieveable playing 4 tables at 25c/50c if you run well, but i guess you'd have to play solid PLO at 50c/1 and 1/2 to make the target in 10 hours a week a little more comfortably

I'm not sure of ROI's etc, but i'm currently playing with 50 Buy ins for 1/2 as the swings can be big, so the 20 buy in rule of NLHE cash would not be enough to comfortably take a few days of bad swings

I will definately take a look at Ladbrokes.

Well, the 10 hrs is for now to get a feel for it. As I say, if I were to drop 2 days of work a week, I could actually play more and I am just thinking it all through now and going at the lower end to get a feel etc until 'decision' time. I doubt the full decision will be before next Feb, possibly a year as bonuses to come, but not sure.

I remember you commented to me on a PLO25 table tho, they are just sickly sickly as players have no clue, so the beats are extreme. Yes, you'd expect that good in the long term, but I'm not so sure when you throw in that 1 limper means 5 limpers so your Aces are so -EV. I do well at PLO50 and also at PLO100 buying in slightly short, but I'm not rolled for that at all. However, I'd rather have $40 on a PLO50 than full stack at PLO25.

Hopefully I'll win a few of those 90 manners I've got left and can then start PLO on FT also.

I certainly wouldnt play PLO 25 as its hard enough patience wise playing the nutters at PLO 50, even then when u raise your seeing 70% calling, can be boring as hell just playing nut PLO, i would tried getting properly rolled (40 buy ins at least) for 50c/1 or 1/2 and then i think you'd easily be able to earn your targets.

That is the hope sir. I need to do some sums and take advantage of a few bonuses out there and reckon I could get to PLO100 with 30 buy ins in a few months (unless I run sick bad). Currently just about rolled for PLO50 with 20 buyins but I don't find that to bad on Bodog. Yes, lots of pre flop callers, but it's a post flop game. Think I'm running ok too TBH and I need to tighten up my starting hand requirements.

I'm doing this now as I think I will have 6 months to get there at least. Hopefully I might win the odd MTT before then and get there quicker, you never know.

If I used my Live money I'd be rolled for PLO50 now, but I does like my live games.

Stinger recommends 50BI for NLHE and 100 for PLO once you hit PLO100 and NL100

100 BI for PLO100 ??? WTF. Has stinger not heard of moving down !!!

I'm playing PLO100 with $86 on $500 roll......lol

Reason, 3 sick beats at PLO25 = -$75

1 super river for the nut flush with 4 AI on PLO100 with $112 (from $86) on the table = +$250 !!!! woot

I would say try betfair but then u will take all the fishays away from me,

this past month i have withdrawn over $1200 in PLO cash game winnings from deposits totalling $400 and that is just playing at 25c 50c and 2 tabling.

The standard is just so dire its unreal
